One of the most interesting places to visit while relaxing in Alicante is Zoo Rio Safari Elche. For all the inhabitants, conditions have been created that are as close as possible to their usual wildlife, there is also a terrarium with reptiles. There are no traditional enclosures and cages - you can see elephants, tigers and lions from the trailer of a special train that travels through the park.

In the Rio Safari Elche Zoo there are giraffes and antelopes, bison and tigers - a huge number of exotic animals are collected in one territory. All of them can be photographed, and some can be stroked. There is a crocodile farm at the park. Every day for guests of the park, performances are held with the participation of the inhabitants of the zoo. The park is open 10: 30-20: 00, admission 22.5 euros for an adult, 17 euros for a child from 3 years old and visitors over 65 years old.

Among family entertainment in Spain, safari parks are very popular. Their difference from ordinary zoos is that animals are placed in their usual habitat, and people can watch the beast from close range. If you have chosen the Costa Blanca as your vacation spot, you might like a trip to the Rio Safari Elche Zoo, which is half an hour from Alicante.

“Crocodiles, hippos, monkeys, sperm whales and a green parrot” - the song says it’s about this zoo. Only instead of sperm whales here are sea lions, who are entrusted with the honor of representing the inhabitants of the waters. At the entrance, all visitors receive a map of the territory. Guided by it, you will not miss lions and tigers, do not forget to visit giraffes and camels, visit llamas and lemurs, take a look at the terrarium cave to snakes and lizards ... Or vice versa - try to avoid someone who scares or causes antipathy.

The Rio Safari Elche Zoo is allowed to feed many animals. To do this, you can buy special food at the box office. The closest communication with animals takes place on a farm: this is a section of the park where domesticated and farm animals live. For some children, it is the hens and cows that are real exotic - they can see wild animals in an ordinary zoo, but you will not see pigs, goats, sheep in the city.

You can wander the alleys of the park for hours, looking at dexterous monkeys and admiring the bright parrots. But most of the territory can be bypassed on a sightseeing train. The fare on it is included in the price of the entrance ticket.

Rio Safari Elche hosts wonderful performances featuring elephants and sea lions. It also periodically hosts exhibitions of animals and birds. As an additional entertainment for children, the zoo offers a small pool, a playground, trampolines and a go-kart track. Rio Safari Elche has a restaurant, a kiosk with refreshments and an equipped picnic area.

Since you will have to spend a lot of time in the open, it is worth taking hats, sunscreen and drinking water with you.

Rio Safari Elche is not the only attraction in the city. We also recommend visiting the palm grove and the Paleontological Museum with skeletons of dinosaurs with children.
