Now all the drifts are numbered and given names. More often they were given by tourists visiting the attraction of Domodedovo. Sometimes the names of the mines surprise visitors. For example, “Three Little Pigs” or “Stop of the first carriage”.

In the "Christmas" drift often hosts a variety of concerts and performances. There is also a grotto that has been consecrated. Icons are set here and tourists place candles. In the Grotto "Big Column" youth parties and discos are held.

Artists paint walls here with surrealistic paintings. One and a half centuries of work on the development of minerals left a memory of this in the form of catacombs and tunnels.

Sights of Domodedovo: photo and description

For many residents of the Moscow region and the whole country, the Domodedovo district is associated only with the airport. But it is interesting not only for this. Sights in Domodedovo are much more and they are much more interesting and informative.

Interesting places Domodedovo

The site contains Domodedovo sights - photos, descriptions and travel tips. The list is based on popular guides and is presented by type, name and rating. Here you will find answers to questions: what to see in Domodedovo, where to go and where are the popular and interesting places of Domodedovo.

Domodedovo airport

Moscow Domodedovo Airport is the largest in Russia in terms of passenger traffic. The annual passenger flow in Domodedovo is over 25 million people. This is the first airport in Russia, which became the largest in Europe according to ACI classification.

Currently, regular flights here are operated by 82 foreign and Russian airlines in 247 destinations, including 83 unique ones operated only from Domodedovo.

The airport is the base for the airlines of the largest aviation alliances in the world - Oneworld and Star Alliance. In the ranking of Skytrax, an independent UK agency, Domodedovo Airport is one of the three best airports in Eastern Europe.

Manor Lyakhovo

Manor Lyakhovo is a medium-sized manor typical of the Moscow Region. It was founded at the beginning of the 19th century by Vasilchikov. The building is an example of a classic building in the spirit of classicism, which in the past was surrounded by a magnificent linden park of a regular type. It was in the estate "Lyakhovo" in 1984 that the popular film "Formula of Love" was shot.

At different times, the estate belonged to A.D. Zalivskaya, at the end of the 19th century to N.A. Agapov, and from 1894 to A.A. Vargin, its last owner, who built a house with a mezzanine here in 1910. Interestingly, the old park with beautiful ponds remained in the estate until the 1970s.

The one-story house with a mezzanine has been preserved quite well: here today you can see medallions filled with decorative stucco molding, inside the house there are plank floors and long cornices. Unfortunately, the unique tiled corner stoves are dismantled today.

Before, in addition to the manor house itself, there was a wooden house and two outbuildings, as well as a stable.

Manor Konstantinovo

Manor Konstantinovo is located on a high sloping coast surrounded by greenery. Like a lighthouse, stands the church of the Smolensk Icon of the Virgin, which is located at a distance of 1 km from the estate.

The estate was owned at different times by: the Romodanovsky patrimonies - in the 17th century, E.I.Golovkina - the second half of the 18th century, R.E. Tatishchev - at the beginning of the 19th century, then - Pokhvisnev, Reshetovs and Przhevalsky, brother of a famous traveler, explorer of Central Asia . Zagoskin was the last owner of the estate.

The manor house was built in the Empire style, it was built in the 20s of the XIX century. It is built of brick, decorated with mesornine and side mezzanines, its cellars are built of white stone. The house is decorated with a tusky colonnade located on the park side, as well as a wide balcony.

The Church of the Smolensk Icon of the Mother of God was built here in the 70s of the XVII century at the expense of Prince Romodanovsky.

In Soviet times, the church was converted to a toy factory, but in 2004, believers returned to it.

Manor Dugino

Today Dugino Manor is the manor house, which is an extended building of noble outlines. The estimated date of construction of the building is 1890. The estate belonged to the merchant of the first guild Vasily Mescherin and was subsequently inherited.

The estate received its name from the bend of the Pakhra River. It is interesting that it was here that a wonderful viewing platform was once organized, the so-called "circle", lined with birches around the perimeter. Later, after laying the highway, the manor building lost not only its economic complex, but also a magnificent garden.

Outstanding Russian artists such as Serov, Grabar, Borisov-Musatov, Vasnetsov and many others visited this house.

In the Soviet years, the estate was a holiday home "Mescherino", now it is privately owned.

Manor Kuzminskoe

The Kuzminskoe estate was first mentioned in scribe books in the middle of the 17th century as a private possession of A.S. Cheprunov, which in the 60s of the 17th century was acquired by S.P. Naumov to equip the patrimony for a kind. It is noteworthy that the story remembers Naumov as spying on the party Patriarch Nikon, who was in exile on White Lake.

It is interesting that throughout the entire time of its existence the estate did not change its owners, moreover, Naumov died here in 1700, he was buried in the temple he built, which has survived to this day.

The church has preserved the volume-planning structure, it is a picturesque bleached building and has the appearance of a church, which is an example of a Moscow school in the second half of the 17th century. Of greatest interest are the slender tiers of the kokoshniks and the magnificent majestic five-domes crowning the temple.

Tourists can also see the preserved building of the manor house, a very modest T-shaped structure, and a small pond.

Manor Rastunovo

Rastunovo Manor today is the church of the Iveron Icon of the Mother of God, built in the tradition of mature classicism by A.P. Demidov, the owner of the estate, in 1797. It is noteworthy that the church has been renovated, it is valid to this day.

The original composition of the temple, which is a red brick building with white stone details. Probably, the talented architect of the Moscow school worked on the creation of the church.

In the 1990s, a three-arch wall-shaped belfry was added to the western wall of the refectory, which is stylistically knocked out of the general temple composition.

Earlier near the temple, one could see a five-tier separately located bell tower, which did not survive to this day.

To the north-east of Rastunovo, on the left bank of the river Severka, a Slavic settlement dating back to the 12th-13th centuries has survived to this day. Unfortunately, the name of this city did not reach us.

Sonino Manor

Sonino Manor was founded at the beginning of the 20th century by the landowner E.I. Chikina. It was laid in accordance with the principles of traditional suburban housing. In the center of the composition is the manor house, to which the side wings are subordinate, now, alas, impersonal. An office building has also survived to this day, and the once richly decorated front gate has not been preserved.

The manor house is made in neo-Empire style, it is a two-story building with the main facade facing the courtyard. In the center of the building stands out a wide Doric frieze and barely protruding risalit in 5 windows. In addition, improvised arcades located above the windows of the first floor of the building give the building a smart look.

Unfortunately, the park in the middle of which the house is located today makes an extremely depressing impression. It is known that for a long time there was a rest house in the estate, however today there is no trace of the former greatness.

About the history of the city

The name of the city came from the nearby village of Domodedovo. It is ancient: it was mentioned back in 1401 in princely letters. The road near which it originated is also old: it is the Kashirsky tract, connecting Moscow with the southern suburbs and adjacent territories for many centuries.

Under the reforms of Catherine II, at the end of the 18th century, on the basis of several villages located on the territory of modern Domodedovo, the city of Nikitsk and the eponymous district were founded. However, this name did not take root. Until the second half of the 19th century, the surroundings of these villages were quite wild and dense, overgrown with dense forest and shrubs.

With the formation of the Domodedovo Palace Forest Cottage, the local territories were divided into quarters in which planned deforestation and harvesting of brushwood were carried out, with the lease of the land received for construction of cottages. In January 1900, the Domodedovo station was opened - on the new Moscow-Pavelets railway passing through Domodedovo volost. The railway gave a new impetus to the development of these places. The growth of industry was also promoted by the rich deposits of limestone stone located here.

As in many other cities, Ilyich adorns the main square of Domodedovo.

During the reconstruction of Moscow in the 1930s, hundreds of families from the capital were resettled in Domodedovo, new houses grew up in the village. In the days of the battle of Moscow (October-December 1941), the village turned into a front-line station, to which military trains arrived, which were repeatedly bombed by the Nazis, in the vicinity of which Talalikhin made the famous night ram of a German bomber.

Domodedovo Museum of History and Art

This cultural institution, operating since August 1992, in accordance with its name, is divided into two large departments - local history and exhibition. The exhibition hall hosts exhibitions of works by artists and sculptors, artworks from various collections. Interesting educational programs and creative master classes are organized for visitors. Ticket prices are purely symbolic.

This memorial was erected in the year of the twentieth anniversary of the Victory - in 1965, and in 2015 it was completely restored. Memorial steles are placed next to the main monument, on which the names of Heroes of Heroes of the Soviet Union, as well as full knights of the Order of Glory - natives of the city are immortalized. Manor Denezhnikovo

In Soviet times, a pioneer camp was located in the buildings of the estate, and its traces have survived to our time. In general, this architectural monument is in a terrible state, and it is not known whether it will ever wait for restoration.

Church of Peter and Fevronia of Murom

The small and beautiful brick church, opened in 2009, is located right in the Yolochki Culture and Leisure Park, next to the Molodozhenov Alley. At the entrance to the temple territory, two huge wedding rings are installed - a symbol of love and fidelity. An inscription is engraved on them: "Advice and love." There is a Sunday school at the church for pupils from three to seventeen years old.

Church of the Nativity

This church was built at the turn of the 20th and 21st centuries, opened and consecrated in 2002. The architectural image of this temple was based on the design of the church of Boris and Gleb in the village of Shcherbinka, which was destroyed during the Soviet era. The five-domed single-throne, cross-shaped temple can accommodate about one hundred parishioners at a time. It is very beautiful and richly decorated from the inside. The Nativity of Christ Church often holds various events for orphans and children with special needs.

Old abandoned quarries: Syanovsky, Kiseli, Volodarsky

For dozens of kilometers underground and branching caves, passages and galleries of old quarries, in which, under the tsarist government, they mined stone for several centuries in a row for the construction needs of Moscow and the cities around Moscow. In the 70s / 80s, the entrances to these catacombs were closed up with concrete, but in subsequent years, lovers of thrills and "cave extreme" again opened them.

In these creepy caves it’s dark and cold. There are not only wide galleries and transitions where you can go to full height, but also cramped places through which you need to make your way almost crawling, feeling the psychological pressure of a 30-meter-thick earth above your head.

An underground passage leading into the distance in the Kiseli quarries.

Location: Domodedovo urban district, the village of Starosyanovo (Sianovskie), Kamkino ("Kiseli"), Konstantinovo (Volodarskie)

Domodedovo pyramid

At the bottom of the ravine in the village of Nikitsky, the construction of a strange pyramid has been going on for several years. Despite the fact that it is built from a ravine, the building has already exceeded the trees growing nearby. Officially, this building is for beekeeping. But around him there are all kinds of legends. On Google maps, this construction site was displayed as a large symbol of infinity. Many see in its outlines other ancient Slavic or ancient Sumerian signs. Construction has not been completed, but signs prohibiting shooting from quadrocopters are hung everywhere.

Shoe Museum

Domodedovo has the world's largest boot-shaped building. The corresponding entry is in the Russian Book of Records and Achievements, and eventually appears in the famous Guinness Book of Records. In combination, this unusual building is also a shoe museum. In length, this shoe is six meters, its height is eight meters, and if you add to it a fly agaric on the "roof" - then 9.5 meters.

The incredible Shoe Museum continues the magical theme.

Inside, you can see fabulous shoes - Cinderella's crystal slippers, little hearts from The Night Before Christmas. There is also a curious collection of shoes from other nations of the world.

Park "Fir-trees"

Without exception, all tourists and residents of the city of Domodedovo invariably like the local beautiful Park of Culture and Rest "Yolochki". Here you can find a variety of attractions and entertainment for all ages: boat rental, electric cars, cycle cars, a contact zoo, a theater gallery, a rope "Alp Park". In winter, the park has a magnificent ice rink. There are plenty of places where you can eat deliciously. Park "Fir-trees" at any time of the year pleases with its exceptional cleanliness, well-groomed, comfort. Many compare it with the capital's Gorky Park, only in a reduced format.

Pharmacy in the meadow

On the initiative of one of the leaders of the club “Healthy Lifestyle - Healthy Lifestyle” Yuri Trubachev in 2012 in the Domodedovo Park “Yolochki” a wonderful project was realized: a whole meadow of medicinal plants was planted. Here they collected more than 70 species, and now the number of medicinal herbs in this collection is already approaching 100. The idea of the project is to give people an idea about the appearance and healing properties of many medicinal herbs. It was successfully implemented, and this collection was called "Pharmacy in the meadow."

The huge graffiti in Domodedovo looks very impressive, occupying the entire wall of a 9-storey building. A grandiose picture was made in various shades of blue. Graffiti shows a portrait of this creator of seventy models of Soviet production aircraft, as well as one of these models - the Tu-114.

Hippoclub "Bereginya"

Very close to the city is a comfortable corner for horse lovers. The equestrian club is named after the very first horse with which its history went. In addition to horseback riding and horse riding for fun, treatment sessions using hippotherapy methods, charity events for children from orphanages, shelters, boarding schools, and public organizations of disabled people are organized here. In winter, you can ride on a sleigh.

From almost all sides, the city of Domodedovo is surrounded by forested areas. The ecological situation here is good. There are no enterprises that would be strong air pollutants. Only Kashirskoye highway acts as such. The construction of new multi-storey residential buildings, shopping centers and other infrastructure is actively ongoing throughout the city district.

Jobs in Domodedovo are created by the enterprises here that produce plastic products, metal structures, bricks, carbonated drinks (Pepsi, Nestle). But the main employer is, of course, a huge airport and the airlines that cooperate with it. Many go to work daily in Moscow. This is not difficult: the capital can be reached quickly by any means of transport (except for cars: traffic jams). So, the road to the nearest Moscow metro station (metro Varshavskaya) will take only about thirty minutes by train.

City park "Fir-trees"

The Fir-tree Park is divided into several thematic zones: Molodozhenov Alley, a leisure and entertainment center, a sports ground, the Church of Saints Peter and Fevronia, the registry office, a gallery, a climbing wall, several cafes and other entertainment areas. The park will have a good time, both for children and adults. In the Rope Park you can have fun with the whole family.

White pillars

The microdistrict located in the city of Domodedovo was founded at the beginning of the 19th century, when the village began to be built near the White Pillars railway station. The cottage settlement received the name because of the white pillars indicated at the construction site of the station. After all, this place was deep in the forest and it took so little time to get to it.

Over time, the road along the forest was cut down and a railway station was built, then a small village was built. And in the XXI century, this village became a microdistrict of the city of Domodedovo.

Kiseli quarry

The second name of the quarry is Kamkinskoye. In the territory of this cave limestone was mined for the construction of white Moscow. The Kiseli quarry was created artificially. The length of the cave reaches 11 kilometers. At the moment, tourists like to come to the cave and do tours of them.

The walls are covered with different inscriptions. You need to crawl through the caves. Before starting the movement, they write down in a special journal who crawled along which road in order to bring help in case of something.

Vyatichi barrows

The pioneers of Russia stopped on this territory in the 11th century. Vyatichi tribes had their own funeral structures, which remained to this day. If you look along the forest, you can see many hills on which they were located. When the Vyatichi went through the funeral, they also buried with them expensive jewelry, vases and crests that belonged to them.

Biggest graffiti

The largest graffiti in the city of Domodedovo is located at the end of a residential building located on Academician Tupolev Avenue. Graffiti is dedicated to the great aircraft designer of the Soviet Union Andrei Nikolaevich Tupolev. It was he who produced more than 100 aircraft. Graffiti reaches 9 floors in height. On graffiti, a portrait of the scientist himself and a projection of the TU-144 aircraft from three sides are drawn. Graffiti is located in the Aviation District.
